So... Why a Website about Kids' Shoes?
You might be wondering how anyone gets the idea to create a website dedicated to children's shoes.
Well... that's a pretty good question!
The truth is, I've always found children's footwear surprisingly fascinating. "Kids' shoes tell a little story".
They get worn, scuffed, muddy, stretched, squeezed, kicked around and eventually outgrown.
And then, one day, they're simply ending up in the dumpster. ..
That's where my idea for KidsFootAndShoe.com began. 😄👟
Kids Grow. Shoes Get Left Behind ...
Anyone who has children knows how quickly they grow.
One minute, you buy a pair of shoes that fits perfectly. Then, seemingly five minutes later,
your child tells you: “These shoes are too small!”
And there you are, holding a perfectly usable pair of children's shoes that your child can no longer wear.
Maybe they're sitting in a cupboard. Maybe they're in a box in the basement. Maybe you've got several pairs piled up because you haven't quite decided what to do with them yet.
And unfortunately, many perfectly usable children's shoes eventually end up being thrown away. I thought there had to be a better way.
Why Throw Away Shoes That Still Have Life Left?
Children often outgrow their shoes long before the shoes are completely worn out.
A pair of sneakers that's too small for one child could still be exactly what another child needs.
That's one of the ideas behind KidsFootAndShoe — giving outgrown children's shoes another chance.
Instead of simply throwing them away, families can sell their used kids' shoes and potentially make some extra money from something that would otherwise be sitting unused.
It's a simple idea, but I really like it.
Less unnecessary waste. More useful shoes staying in circulation. And a little extra money for families. Everybody wins. 😊
And ThenThere Are... Stinky Shoes ...
Now we get to the slightly stranger part of my story.
Think about everything a pair of kids' sneakers can go through: playgrounds, sports, running around, hot summer days, rainy afternoons and countless little adventures.
Eventually, you open the shoes... WHOOSH! 💨 And you immediately know they've been
well loved. You might take one step back and say, “Ewwww!” 😂
I tend to look at it a little differently. To me, those wonderfully worn-out sneakers are almost like little time capsules. They tell you that a child has been running, playing, exploring and having adventures in them.
And, call me weird, call me whatever you like, but coming from a loving heart that raised a whole bunch of kids, i even love that special smell, too."Trick or Treat, smell my Feet!" - Yeah, why not? 😂❤️
And that´s also where the fun side of KidsFootAndShoe comes in.
I don't think everything on the internet needs to be serious. Sometimes shoes can simply be funny.
That's another reason I created the Stinky Feet Contest - a place where families can have a little fun with those wonderfully smelly, worn-out sneakers they might otherwise be eager to get rid of.
Why not bring these two sides together?
Families get to have something back from their kids' most notorious sneakers, while I get to appreciate the wonderfully ridiculous stories that sometimes come with them.
And let's be honest...
Some children's shoes deserve an award for what they've been through. 🏆👟😂
More Than Just Shoes
What started as an interest in kids' footwear eventually became the idea for a website with a bigger purpose.
KidsFootAndShoe is about helping families with children's shoes in several different ways - from selling outgrown footwear to learning more about children's feet, shoe sizes and finding the right fit.
